I have a theory about some of the historical differences seen in pete's world .I think it is possible that germany won the second world war in this universe, that would explain the popularity of zepelins, the lack of a prime minister and why a new germany exists.Any other ideas on pete's world's differences?--666hotline 16:55, February 28, 2010 (UTC)
Please sign your posts with a quadruple ~ after them. I heard RTD's original theory was that Empress Victoria was killed by a werewolf, and it was at this point the timelines diverged, but the idea was to complicated and self-referential. 86.183.23.10 17:35, February 27, 2010 (UTC)

A tragic incident with Victoria explains why there's a Torchwood, as well as a president. -- Noneofyourbusiness 03:32, March 1, 2010 (UTC)
Germany winning WWII wouldn't make zeppelins popular, as the Germans (and the rest of the world) effectively abandoned them in 1937 after the Hindenburg crash, 2 years before WWII started.
Germany winning WWI might make zeppelins popular. And losing the Great War could conceivably lead to the kind of shakeup that might lead the UK to having a President.
But RTD's idea involving the werewolves makes more sense. Plus, it's RTD's idea, which gives it a lot of extra credence. However, as he decided it was too complicated and self-referential, and therefore didn't actually use it, this idea isn't canonical either; the canonical answer is: If Stephen Moffat or one of the NSA novel writers gives us an answer (or even RTD on the spinoff shows), that's the answer; until then, nobody knows. --99.20.129.165 07:53, March 3, 2010 (UTC)
