Hi, you may have seen a number of new articles appearing under Doctor Who Magazine. So as not to create too many empty links at any one time, I am trying to do batches of issues (I've currently done to the end of the weeklies). Which is what brings me to the question of comic strips. While the comic strip adventures in the regular magazine (and the range of spin-offs from first Marvel then Panini), form the bulk of the entries there exists a wealth of other comic strip material some dating back to the 1960's and covering all the Doctors, the Peter Cushing films and what is generally referred to as back-up (or non Doctor-led) comic strip adventures. To further confuse the issue DWM brought up many of the rights to reprint and use these strips. To this end I will try to work on linking all the existing work done with a new Doctor Who Comic Strip category (using the existing template for magazines of course!) So please bear with me if you suddenly see pages with lots of red links. By the way thanks I'm enjoying myself!!! The Librarian 23:10, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Excellent work with the Magazines so far...(there are multiple red links around...as with everything they get covered in the fullness of time). With in so far as categories go there is already Category:Comics stories (or alternatively Category:Real World magazines) so if you're going by where the comic strips where published, (if that's your intention I'll admit I'm slightly confused as to whether you're saying you're covering in the future the comic strips specifically or where they were published) however I show wait and see. But anyhow there's infoboxes out there for both the comic strip stores and magazines. --Tangerineduel 13:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I've got all my information ready (I have been working on it for a number of years as Publisher documents), its just finding the time to reformat and integrate it into the wonderful world of wiki (or the w.w.w. as I now view it!).I'm glad you like my contributions so far, believe me theres loads more to come! Regarding the comic strips, as a visitor I found it illogical to search categories, with a number of links to other links before arriving at what I wanted, which seemed to me a little all over the place. Let me know how I'm doing. The range is comprehensive from magazines (including the US titles), Annuals/Yearbooks, special editions, the Radio Times and some of older TV / Mighty Midget Comics. For the sake of ease I thought the categories of comic strip coverage as used in the Toybox books seems to cover most of the range and allows for expansion. Anyway must be away now more to type! Oh by the way, to answer - specifically ! The Librarian 22:43, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Archivist's notes[[edit source]]

The presence of redlinked categories here means that this discussion is now mostly moot. It's kinda hard to understand the point of this conversation since our category tree has changed a lot since this thread was written.
