Forum:HELP: editing query!
Hi! can anyone explain to me why on the page Doctor Who: Battles in Time (Comic Strip) page, at the bottom, where the illustrations are, the last batch of images are noticeably bigger than the others, even though the image-text line is the same as those above and includes h100px? I'm sure I'm overlooking something simple, but its annoying me cos I dont know what! Any ideas?The Librarian 13:30, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not really sure what purpose the gallery serves on that BIT comic strip page (it really slows the load time of the page), I think it might be better served on a page on its own as it pretty much duplicates what is already on the the article and what is on the individual pages.
- As for the image size problem, not really sure, one image was at 1000px (fixed that) and at quick glance I can't see anything that might be causing it, they're all at various resolutions which shouldn't affect how they're displayed. --Tangerineduel 15:34, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Um, yeah, that's one ugly, slow-loading page. Be prepared for those images, which really aren't fair use either, to be removed. Soon-ish. Wwell, now-ish, actually. Which makes this an out of date thread, because the condition doesn't exist anymore on the wiki.
As for the technical question, if you define the size in terms of height, instead of width, you'll get variable width. Similarly, images with constricted width (that is to say, most images on the wiki) have differing heights. You can make an attempt to constrict both dimensions, but it's never quite right. If you're looking to get a series of images to have the same dimensions, your safest bet is to actually upload them at the same dimensions.
