I've started a bit of a discussion with AKR619 about the removal of images on the First Doctor and Seventh Doctor's pages. On the AKR619's user talk page it is stated that the images were removed because the made the article "too big". In the reason for the removal of the images given during editing it was stated because the images were not "notable".

Because multiple images were removed from both the First Doctor and Seventh Doctor's pages the other day without explanation, I restored them out of fear of possible vandalism. Before I restore the images on both of them again... images which I think help bright up the page and keep it from being pure black and white text... I would appreciate other's input.

Thanks. --Raukodraug 04:39, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

I think the images should stay, this isn't a text based encyclopaedia. The images help to illustrate the information, to make it interesting to be read. It also really helps to illustrate the page and bring to life the words. Looking at the Seventh Doctor page (prior to the edits) it could do with maybe one or two other images for his regeneration and one later perhaps showing his change in suit (from the question mark jumper to the cream suit seen on the front of Original Sin). The same goes for the First Doctor article (and in face any articles) the images really help in bringing the page to life and making it interesting and fascinating to read. --Tangerineduel 08:47, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
We should definitely keep the pictures. They help break up the article so it doesn't just look like a giant wall of text. With the pictures, the article doesn't look as boring. -<Azes13 14:45, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
I don't feel strongly about this either way, but I would like to note that someone could always start a gallery page for any of the Doctors, if none exist already. --Stardizzy2 18:01, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
I too support the images be included. The Librarian 21:50, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

From what I'm reading then, the case with these images is that aesthetics trumps brevity. At this point then I'm going to restore the images and I will point AKR619 back to this discussion if there are any questions. --Raukodraug 19:55, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
