Forum:New infoboxes and you
If you've been paying attention this weekend, you'll have noticed that we've finally started moving to standardized infoboxes. Obviously, the inclination is going to be to "kick the tires" and try it out. However, this implementation is a complicated process, that's going to require several bot runs and a whole bunch of time.
Please do not start manually editing or correcting infoboxes. I realise that the infobox changeover will result in pages temporarily displaying some errors. Your manual edits could impair bot replacement. There will definitely come a time where lots of manual help will be required, but that time is not now. I'll send up a flair when the bot has done all it can do, in about a week or so.

Thanks to user:Tybort's hard work, we now can offer you a neat list of other forum threads that concentrate on specific parts of the new infobox. Please be sure to read all these threads so that you're fully up to speed on this frankly major refit.

Want to add a comment?edit source
If you'd like to be part of the discussion about infoboxes, you have a few options:
- Add your ideas to one of the specific threads above
- Start a new forum thread on a topic not already covered. Title it "Infobox: <whatever>". Then put it in category:Infobox discussions
- If your comment is rather general, or you don't think it's worth a free-standing discussion, you can just add it below.
- If you see what you think is the bot editing in a pattern that looks crazy — that is, if looks like the bot is making crazy or unhelpful edits — send an emergency message to user talk:CzechBot. I'll take an immediate look and shut things down if necessary.
General commentsedit source
Since the release of Worlds in Time, I've been moving links from Unnamed planet (A Christmas Carol) and Ember to Ember (planet). Is it still technically a no-no to alter Individual and Species template to finish the job until further notice? -- Tybort (talk page) 18:16, March 17, 2012 (UTC)
- Relatedly, is it still "dangerous" to manually alter the story preload pages even if it helps people use the correct template?
- Also, are you going to do a "usage" page on Infobox Story for webcasts? -- Tybort (talk page) 15:17, March 19, 2012 (UTC)
The variable {fav episode} on Infobox User is misspelt as "Favourte" on the box. -- Tybort (talk page) 01:59, March 21, 2012 (UTC)
