As for part of the story TV: Mona Lisa's Revenge the paintings are living things, should that make them italicised or not while "mobile"? -- Tybort (talk page) 23:28, June 16, 2012 (UTC)

My inclination is that Mona Lisa is the painting and Mona Lisa is the person/replicant/whatever. Gamaliel talk to me 16:29, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

When it's a painting, 'The Mona Lisa' is the title of a work of art. Titles are italicized. When it's alive, it's the name of a living thing. Names are, with some exceptions (ship's names) not italicized. As living paintings are unique to this show (except for tableaux vivante), there is noreason on that account to italicize.

Contariwise, "the living Mona Lisa" feels right. Boblipton talk to me 18:29, June 20, 2012 (UTC)
