Forum:Series 6 spring finale
As we know, The Rebel Flesh and The Almost People are a two parter, as is A Good Man Goes to War and episode 8. Howver the "To Be Continued" sign that appeared at the end of the The Almost People suggests it leads straight into A Good Man Goes to War. So does this mean that The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People/A Good Man Goes to War/Epsiode 8 is a four parter? Or are they just two different two parters? The Series 6 page and the episode pages say different things from each other, so we should quickly decided if they are two two parters or one four parter. Mini-mitch\talk 19:37, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
This is similar to the way that Utopia leads into The Sound of Drums and many serials in the Hartnell era led into one another. I think they are separate two-parters, but they just lead into one another.----Skittles the hog--Talk 19:40, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
- Well, in a technical sense, we've only had one two-parter in the BBC Wales catalogue: The End of Time. I've never been a fan of episode lists which use slashes to put together stories, as The Empty Child / The Doctor Dances. In an age of increasingly serialised TV, I think it better to think of each episode on its own. I mean really you can't have Doomsday without Rise of the Cybermen, but we haven't generally considered that a four-parter. If a gun were put to my head, though, I'd probably go for the four-parter option with these. This looks much more tightly integrated than even Utopia with the final two eps of series 3. It's going to be integral to the plot of the next couple of eps that Amy was a ganger.
- Not sure what it matters, though, or why Mini-mitch is perceiving a need to "quickly decide" the issue.

- I'm of the unless it states Part 1, Part 2 etc then they're separate stories *(unless we're talking about the 1960s stories). So, I agree with Skittles the hog and CzechOut. The Almost People to A Good Man Goes to War isn't much different to The Edge of Destruction to Marco Polo or The Dominators to The Mind Robber or even The Ark in Space/The Sontaran Experiment/Genesis of the Daleks. --Tangerineduel / talk 14:30, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
- For me, it depends on production. Utopia was produced as a part of the same serial as The Sound of Drums and Last of the Time Lords, whereas I don't think that A Good Man Goes to War was produced as being the same story as The Almost People. Tardis1963 05:33, June 4, 2011 (UTC)
