Continuing my thoughts on the long-dormant Forum:What's the focus on the Cyber-Controller page? and Forum:Individual ranked Cybermen, I was wondering if there's any objections if the pages Cyber-Leader (Mondas), Cyber-Leader (Pete's World), Cyber-Lieutenant and Cyber-Controller would work better as overview pages, and the history sections split into pages regarding individuals of that rank? We've had Cyber-Leader (A Good Man Goes to War) without it being removed for so long, why not go the whole hog?

The only one of those that seems implied to be the same ranked Cyberman in multiple stories is the Cyber-Controller in Tomb and Attack (given all the continuity to old stories in Attack of the Cybermen, though I could just be confused). Anyone wish to dispute that? Though I will point out that in Forum:Individual ranked Cybermen, User:Josiah Rowe pointed out that David Banks connected the Cyber-Leaders he portrayed in Doctor Who: Cybermen (not considered a valid source), and presumably the audio adaptation of its history, The ArcHive Tapes, which I don't know if it counts or not as a story. -- Tybort (talk page) 00:58, September 5, 2012 (UTC)

Every time I look at this many Cyber-prefixes in a row, my eyes glaze over. I take it from the lack of activity that others may be similarly flummoxed by this thread and its predecessors. Could you perhaps rephrase your plan, please?

Even I'm confused by the Cyber-Controller, so disregard that for the time being, but basically, Cyber-Leader (Mondas) etc. as pages for the rank, but Cyber-Leader (Earthshock), Cyber-Leader (The Five Doctors) and so forth for specific, probably mutually exclusive leaders. What would be linked to on story pages, as they're specifically pointed out leaders and second-in-command rather than "charging Ood extra #3". -- Tybort (talk page) 23:45, September 16, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, I understand your basic plan now. My question would be, though, is there enough information about the rank itself after ported the information off to the various individual pages? Also, can we say definitively that Cyber-Leader (The Five Doctors) is a different cat to Cyber-Leader (Earthshock)? Cyber episodes are definitely not my specialty, so I've never examined them closely enough to know whether a particular C-L gets killed in one episode, or whether it's possible they survived.
I think if the "continuity of office", as it were, is unclear, then it may be better to leave everything on a central page. If we can definitively say that every Cyber-Leader dies at the end of a particular adventure, then you may have cause to port to individual pages. In that event, though, I think that the main C-L page becomes simply a kind of dab page – cause I'm pretty sure we know very little about the office itself.
