Australopithecus afarensis
From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Australopithecus afarensis were hominids which lived in Africa around 3,000,000 BCE. They were one of the first primates to walk upright. Their brains were still comparatively small and undeveloped, but their upright gait freed their hands to hold weapons and tools, the latter of which would transform their descendants into the human race. Australopithecus was believed to have used primitive stone tools even at this early stage, like sharpened rocks for cutting meat and breaking bones. - The Hominids notably appeared in Episode 3.10 of Primeval. The profile provided in Prehistory Repeating Itself [+]Loading...["Prehistory Repeating Itself (feature)"] was, in fact, recycled from Cubicle Seven's Primeval game.
