Charms were objects that supposedly offered some benefit to the bearer. Martha Tyler gave charms containing rock salt to her grandson Jack Tyler and to Leela for their protection. In Fetch Priory, the salt was taken out of the charms and used by Jack and Leela to fill cartridges with which to shoot Fendahleen. (TV: Image of the Fendahl)
