- Each issue came with a DVD release.
- Reversible DVD sleeves enabled the collector to display one of two designs featuring either the Doctor and his enemies or his companions.

- The TARDIS arrives in the Highlands of Scotland to help UNIT investigate a mysterious sea monster. The Doctor soon discovers that a crashed Zygon spaceship is lying at the bottom of Loch Ness, where the shape-shifting aliens are plotting to attack the governments of Earth with a terrifying secret weapon. Can the Doctor and his friends protect London from the Loch Ness Monster?

- A special 3D version of The Day of the Doctor (TV story) was shot for screening in cinemas around the world.
- An Adventure in Space and Time was first proposed by writer Mark Gatiss for the shows 40th Anniversary in 2003.
- Actor David Bradley was offered the part of William Hartnell in An Adventure in Space and Time after playing Solomon for Dinosaurs on a Spaceship.
