Defenestration was the act of throwing something or someone out of a window. In 2181, Dusan was scheduled to be executed by defenestration for cutting down a tree, but he was rescued by his fiancée Kája and the Fifth Doctor. (PROSE: Suspension and Disbelief)

The Eighth Doctor, on the other hand, described it as the action of moving through a window, and thought it was wonderful that such a word existed. (AUDIO: Fairytale of Salzburg)
