Digby Arwell

Digby Arwell was the brother of Reg Arwell. (PROSE: "Holiday Plans") He was brother-in-law to Madge Arwell and and the uncle of their children, Cyril and Lily Arwell. He was much wealthier than the Arwells and possessed a large country estate in Dorset. By 1941, however, Digby had vacated the house to live, according to Lily, "in a home in Battersea". (TV: The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe)

This character's name is likely an allusion to Professor Digory Kirke, who owns the estate which houses the wardrobe in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
