Drill fly

Drill flies were a species of insects native to Delta III, where they lived in the swamps. The flies laid their eggs in the feet of a host. A week later, the host would have holes in their head. Rohm-Dutt used this story to frighten Romana I. (TV: The Power of Kroll)
