Notes

• This was the first of several strips to be written by Doctor Who's script editor Andrew Cartmel. It is believed that the strips incorporated some of the ideas considered for a 27th season of the series, such as the Doctor owning at least one house on Earth.
• The story was printed in full colour in the graphic novel The Mark of Mandragora.

Continuity

• Ace attacks a Hitcher using a hockey stick. She previously attacked a Dalek with a baseball bat in November 1963. (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks ^[+]Loading...["Remembrance of the Daleks (TV story)"])
• A framed image on the wall of Smithwood Manor depicts the Second Doctor in a fur coat in Tibet beside Ella Cooper's grandfather in 1927.
