Ganeida's mother
Ganeida's mother was a nun from Arthurian times. She had a relationship with Merlin's "demonic" father, who then disappeared for several decades. He was unaware that a half-human daughter was born to the nun. (PROSE: A Honeycomb of Souls)
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
In classic Arthurian folklore, Merlin and Gwenddyd are twins; the nun impregnated by a demon is thus both Ganeida's mother and Merlin's. (Merlin's human mother is rarely named, but her name was given as "Adhan" in some manuscripts of the the 13th century text known as the Brut Chronicle.) However, A Honeycomb of Souls makes it clear that in the DWU version of events, Merlin and Ganeida had different mothers, although they were both half-human, and that Ganeida is younger than Merlin.
