The Prologue in a variant version of William Shakespeare's play Troilus and Cressida, who was based upon the First Doctor, claimed to have seen the film. He recalled a "dismal afternoon" when he took refuge in the ABC but he did not review the film favourably, saying it featured "stuck-up British actors flouncing round in dreadful togas all in pastel shades".
