Il Dottore Va in Viaggio
From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Il Dottore Va in Viaggio was an Italian opera written by Marconi Paletti. It featured three principal characters: an enormously fat man carrying a red umbrella and wearing a half mask that looked like a straw hat; another man, slightly less fat, dressed in a military uniform and wearing a large moustache; and a large woman wearing a black bomber jacket and waving a sword. Kadiatu Lethbridge-Stewart had a copy in her files. (PROSE: Transit [+]Loading...["Transit (novel)"])
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The title of the opera roughly translates to "The Doctor in Travel" or "Transit", an allusion to the title of the novel. However, the events of the opera as described more closely match Ben Aaronovitch's previous story, Battlefield, which featured the Seventh Doctor and his umbrella, the Brigadier his old friend, and Ace with a sword. The author, Marconi Paletti, is a reference to Marc Platt, who wrote the novelisation of Battlefield.
