Ionic membrane was used to defend Tranquility Spa. When Team TARDIS arrived at Tranquility Spa, the membrane was infected with hopper virus and failed. The Thirteenth Doctor proceeded to built a new ionic membrane to protect the guests. She reinstated DNA filter in it in order to exile any lifeform not preapproved. (TV: Orphan 55)
