A version of Jo Grant existed on an alternate Earth that her N-Space counterpart was once accidentally sent to, causing the alternate Jo to fall in a death like coma when the arrival of her counterpart caused her life force to disappear. The N-Space Jo, unable to interact with the world, watched as this reality's Third Doctor left flowers beside her open coffin in a church, leading N-Space Jo to believe that she herself had died, and that she had become a ghost. Once she was able to her home universe, Jo's life force was returned to her and she awoke from her coma. (COMIC: Dead on Arrival)
