John McHugh
John McHugh, called "Shuggy" by friends, was a British Army soldier who served with Jamie Colquhoun from the beginning of World War I, from the Battle of Mons in August 1914 till the Battle of the Somme in July 1916.
Before the war, he was a housebreaker in Clydebank. He was given a choice either to enlist or to go to jail. He chose the former and showed himself a brave soldier. In July 1916 in the town of St Michel in France, he was sent by Captain Douglas Fairbairn to fix the telephone wire connecting them to the headquarters. He found the cut but bumped into a Weeping Angel, who sent him back in time.
"Shuggy" found himself in approximately the same area but 50 years prior. He married a local woman named Brigitte and raised two children with her. He lived long enough to reach the day he was sent back. Then he stole a German tank and saved his former brother-in-arms from the Weeping Angels. He soon peacefully died sitting in a trench with the photo of his family in his hand. (COMIC: The Weeping Angels of Mons)
