Commissioner Kalik was the conniving brother of President Zarb, whom he planned to replace. Kalik was extremely paranoid when it came to other lifeforms, and he disagreed with his brother's decision to allow aliens to return to their planet after centuries of isolation.
He sabotaged the eradicator to let the Drashigs escape from the compression field in the miniscope. This would give him a pretext to dispose of his brother. Though he succeeded in this, he was eaten by the Drashigs. (TV: Carnival of Monsters)
