Madam Karela was Lady Adrasta's vizier.

Fifteen years after Erato arrived on Chloris, Madam Karela met the Fourth Doctor in the Place of Death and had him and Romana taken to Lady Adrasta. She witnessed Romana's abduction by bandits and informed Adrasta about it, sending guards to recapture her.
Once Romana was brought back, Karela advised Adrasta to kill her as she mistrusted her and K9. She recognised the power of the TARDIS and planned to take over after the Huntsman killed Adrasta, allying herself with the bandits by killing Torvin and offering power and money. However, she was stopped by the Doctor. (TV: The Creature from the Pit)
