Leonard Eastlight

Sir Leonard Eastlight was an archaeologist. In the academic community he was considered an opportunist and possibly a fraud, but the public considered him an adventurer. His son, Professor Eastlight, and his grandson, Richard, were also archaeologists. Richard idolised his grandfather.
An expedition to "Cooker Island", led by Professor Eastlight, discovered that Sir Leonard had crashed here a decade ago. Barely alive, he managed to survive by hooking himself up to machinery he found on the planet. He wanted to exploit the native wildlife for profit and fame, but he was killed for good in an attack.
