A media chip was a piece of technology that could be implanted inside a person's brain that allowed them to access the Internet, apparently using Wi-Fi signals. Dorium Maldovar had a media chip implanted in his head that he used to keep himself entertained after he was beheaded by the Headless Monks. (TV: The Wedding of River Song)
