Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Mr Minus' is exposed to be a member of the Kindred of Fel. (COMIC: Pay the Piper)

Having tapped into the Mainframe's primary operating systems, Mr Minus transformed himself into a purge programme which gave him the ability to manually erase data at a single touch. He attempted to auction off five members of the Kindred of Fel - highly desired telepaths - only to be duped by the Eleventh Doctor's fake bid. Upon realising that the Doctor didn't intend to pay Mr Minus erased him from the Mainframe, the Doctor was forced to undergo a data regeneration, leaving him weakened.

As Mr Minus turned his attention to Clara Oswald and attempted to have her auctioned off, the Doctor devised a plan to overload the Mainframe's systems by selling the TARDIS and causing a bidding storm. The plan succeeded and in the resulting power shortage Clara found an opportunity to free the Kindred of Fel allowing them to use their telepathic powers to make the bidders feel their pain. Now without his connection to the Mainframe, Mr Minus lost his disguise within the database and was exposed as being a member of the Kindred of Fel himself. (COMIC: Pay the Piper)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

Scott Gray revealed that the Living Eraser inspired Mr Minus' erasing ability. (The Blood of Azrael graphic novel)

An interview in The Blood of Azrael graphic novel saw writer Scott Gray speaking about the character. Mr Minus was originally intended to have been an android enforcer of the Obsidian Mainframe, while the addition to have him be revealed as one of the Kindred of Fel came later in production as it strengthened the character and saw him striving to gain independence which had become a recurring theme for DWM villains. He also stated that; "Mr Minus was based on a Victorian carnival barker, complete with a Jimmy Edwards-style handlebar moustache".

Mr Minus' method of erasing people was inspired by the Marvel Comics character the Living Eraser.
