Novelisations in Time & Space
Novelisations in Time & Space was a book series published by BBV Productions which adapted stories released by the company during the 1990s and early 2000s. The name was derived from the Audio Adventures in Time & Space range, from which many of the novelised stories in the series originated.
Continuing in the same vein as 2020's Cyberon, an adaptation of the 2001 BBV film of the same name, instalments which novelised stories with no offical connection to Doctor Who featured references to the Doctor Who universe not present in the source material by using licensed elements from spin-offs such as Erimem and P.R.O.B.E.. Although unrelated on a legal level, the original productions had previously been recognised as Who-adjacent due to their usage of actors like Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy, even receiving coverage in Doctor Who Magazine. Not every story which received a novelisation was of this ilk, however. The Rani Reaps the Whirlwind, an authorised sequel to the television story Time and the Rani, was adapted in prose form for the fifth book in the series.
After Arcbeatle Press discontinued their association with BBV, the original 2020 Cyberon novelisation continued to be available, now directly from BBV as part of the Novelisations range. 2023's In A Strange Land, though marketed as part of the range, was an original novel set in the continuity of the Stranger series, and was published by Starry Eyed Press under license from BBV, rather than BBV directly.
