One for All (audio story)
One for All was the first story in the audio anthology The Eleven [+]Loading...["The Eleven (audio anthology)","The Eleven"], produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Lizzie Hopley and featured Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor, Miranda Raison as Constance Clarke, Mark Bonnar as the Eleven and introduced Lucy Gaskell as Miskavel.

The people of Molaruss are in two minds – quite literally! A world of duo-minds inside single bodies offers a unique opportunity to the Eleven, and his new wife, the mutant alien Miskavel. Meanwhile, the Doctor and Constance discover a derelict TARDIS, but are they walking into a trap?
Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]
Marner Daxel, Head of Public Relations and Client Care at DuoTech, meets Dr Varma and takes him to see his upset patient, Miska, whose husband has died as a result of an unsuccessful operation. Miska has the piece of him that died put into a coffin.
The Doctor and Constance are stopped in the Time Vortex and spot another TARDIS nearby. The Doctor dematerialises the TARDIS and lands in the other one, which they find in a mess with a wedding veil on the floor, a cake half-eaten and the controls unlocked. He finds that the ship was stolen by the Eleven and decides to visit Molaruss, the last planet that the Eleven went to, with the Eleven's TARDIS in tow.
At DuoTech, the Doctor and Constance meet Jase and Marner Daxel, who inhabit the same body, and learn that Miska's husband, the Eleven, is supposedly dead as a result of Dr Varma unsuccessfully removing a mind from him to be put inside her. The Doctor takes Miska under his protection whilst she awaits legal representation and Constance goes on a tour with Miss Daxel. Miska tells the Doctor that she was left a Monomind because of the chemicals on her planet and that she was rejected by her people because of it; after her planet was destroyed, she met and fell in love with the Eleven.
The Doctor opens the Eleven's coffin and finds an unconvincing clone of the Eleven inside, apparently containing the personality destroyed during the operation. The Doctor believes that the Eleven was using Miska in order to place his different selves in clone bodies. Another clone enters, one inhabited by the Nine, and gives chase.
Miss Daxel pauses her tour with Constance after receiving a message from Miska. Rather than returning to reception, Constance goes into the forbidden DeepTech area using Miss Daxel's security pass and meets the Eleven, dressed in Dr Varma's clothes and using his name. She soon realises who he is and that he is killing the real Dr Varma with his own machine. Two clones of the Eleven enter, inhabited by the Three and the Six, but the Eleven says that they need the simplicity of Constance's monomind to keep him sane. Dr Varma dies a Monomind.
The Doctor takes Miska into his TARDIS and uses the telepathic circuits to absorb and contain the mind of the Nine. He calls Miska a con artist and discovers that she was the one who wiped out her people as the Eleven watched due to their contract with DuoTech. Putting the Nine into the TARDIS has connected it with the Eleven's, which has the mind of the One inside it; the One now has control of the TARDIS and threatens to cause both of them to explode. Miska leaves and shoots Miss Daxel when she says that Dr Varma, who owes Miska an extra clone, has gone missing.
The TARDISes take off, hurting the Eleven. Miska takes Constance with her to the lab, jealous of the Eleven's apparent fondness for her, whilst the Eleven meets another clone and learns that Miska had extracted the Eight before putting him in a coffin. The Eight makes him realise that they need the balance of the One. The Nine gains increased power and independence without the other minds to hold him back, irritating the One. The One and the Nine enter the Doctor's body and take the TARDISes back.
Miska uses Dr Varma's machine on Constance to try to shatter her mind, but the Doctor, the Eleven and the Eight arrive to stop her. The Doctor returns the split minds into the body of the Eleven, but the clones have a vestige of energy left and destroy Dr Varma's machine. The Eleven dematerialises his TARDIS with the Doctor's within before deciding to return for Miska; however, the Doctor has "dropped the anchor", ripping a hole in the Eleven's TARDIS's shell and preventing his own from being taken. The Doctor and Constance leave.
