Pakafroon Wabster

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Pakafroon Wabster was a music group. According to the Tenth Doctor, they were the greatest rock band in recorded history.

Circa the 11th century, Pakafroon Wabster had a chart hit with a song that sampled some of Prubert Gastridge's lines from Zap Daniel. (PROSE: The Tomorrow Windows [+]Loading...["The Tomorrow Windows (novel)"])

By the band's 300th year, it had released around two hundred albums and was on its 63rd line-up, which consisted of Clifford "Banksy" Banks (bass), Sticks Rooster (drums), Fluke (keyboard) and Reef Holloway (vocals). Their founding father, Wabster, had died fifty years earlier, but was dug up and animatronically reanimated. With the band's popularity on the decline, their record label planned to drop them until Jacey, their tour manager, came up with the idea of having the members killed in a tragic accident, making them rock legends. She succeeded in destroying the star cruiser transporting them to Malphapalooza, but time spillage from the ship's warp thrusters placed them in a time loop for centuries until the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler arrived. After realising what was happening, they saved the band members' lives, exposed Jacey as their would-be killer, and freed them from the loop.
