Article description: (description ) This attribute controls the content of the description and og:description elements. | A private fought in World War I. He had been one of a group of six who had joined up in search of action and adventure. Two, Johnny and Rex, were lost on the first disastrous push. Archie, always the weakest of the lot, was killed by the constant mixture of mud and death underfoot. James was killed by shrapnel twelve months into the war. Eventually, Tommy was killed by a German bullet, leaving the private as the sole survivor of his group. One week after Tommy's death, sixteen months into the war, the private was offered the opportunity to travel with the Seventh Doctor. The soldier turned the Doctor down, believing it to be desertion. Unbeknownst to the private, the Germans were going to advance on his position. (PROSE: Front Line) |
