Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was a Russian composer. He wrote the "1812 Overture", which commemorated the successful Russian defence against Napoleon Bonaparte's forces in 1812. (AUDIO: A Thousand Tiny Wings)

He also wrote the ballet Swan Lake. It was performed at the New Regency Theatre sometime after the death of its owner and proprietor Henry Gordon Jago. It was a huge success, selling out the theatre for months. (AUDIO: Swan Song)
