Rhys Jones was one of the visual effects designers on the Doctor Who television story Frontier in Space, along with Bernard Wilkie. Though only credited on the first and sixth episodes, the heavily redacted credits of the middle episodes suggest no other persons who could have been responsible for visual effects on the serial.
He was later a visual effects assistant on The Ambassadors of Death (INFO: The Ambassadors of Death) and Revenge of the Cybermen[1].
Little is known of his career beyond these credits.
