A Sa'Thraster was a type of Atraxi technology. The Tenth Doctor, talking his way past sound engineers Robbie and Big Michael to gain entrance to the Gresham Hotel in Dublin, suggested they try it over a VC/L-2 as it was "faster, more linear than incandescent" and had a "crystal-coustic gel polymer" that delivered "just the right amount" of smudge.
