Steve Reynolds was a CIA agent in the 21st century. He was on assignment in Venezuela when his wife of six months came down with a long-term illness, possibly leukemia. When Rex Matheson heard the news he called and told Esther Drummond, saying that if Steve came home it would mean Rex's promotion. (TV: The New World)
