Talk:The Lie of the Land (TV story)
Donna's House[[edit source]]
The location used for Jane's house in the beginning of the episode is the same house previously occupied by Donna Noble--ACRONverse Official ☎ 09:28, June 26, 2017 (UTC)
Fake News Central[[edit source]]
Is the fake news central a reference to Trump's comments about fake news?
Well, that's what the Doctor called the place.--Sumanuil ☎ 17:29, June 5, 2017 (UTC)
2017 or 2018?[[edit source]]
Is there any indication that this story takes place in 2018? I see from the history revision that "The Shining Man was set in October 2017 meaning that six months after places this story in 2018.".
However, Bill and the Doctor arrived in October 2017 through time-travel. Also, if anything, The Shining Man would point us towards believing this story is still in 2017. Bill mentions that the MeadowPhone 3 were coming out in August, and from the dialogue, it was understood that, from Bill's perspective, they still hadn't come out. This would give us enough space for the Monks to come on Earth, start their invasion and be defeated, all before the events of The Shining Men.
Still, I consider this whole thing a bit speculative, specially saying that TLoTL is set in 2018. In my opinion, the wisest thing to be done is to put the date back on "late 2010s" until a further story gives us a better setting. OncomingStorm12th ☎ 23:30, June 5, 2017 (UTC)
- Oh, I see. I just assumed The Shining Man was set in the 'present day'. If no other sources can be found putting late 2010s would be the best bet. --Borisashton ☎ 06:58, June 6, 2017 (UTC)
McNeice[[edit source]]
I'm not convinced with the suggestion that the Ian McNeice Churchill appeared in The Lie of the Land. Here is the Digital Spy image and a screenshot taken from BBC iPlayer.

- I know. Me neither. I checked through the scene frame by frame at least 10 times, and did not see this. But several articles mention McNeice's cameo-image as being there. --DCLM ☎ 17:05, June 11, 2017 (UTC)
- From what I understand, this is a matter of a last minute change. For whatever reason, between the time of the review copies being given and the episode being broadcast McNeice was replaced with the real Churchill. Perhaps it was a matter on consistency: all the other historical figures are represented with real pictures and/or the real Churchill was already seen in the pre-title sequence. We should include something about the McNeice Churchill being in review copies, but no speculation. CoT ? 17:22, June 11, 2017 (UTC)
To be added[[edit source]]
Is this page gonna be completed or what? VendettaRev ☎ 22:27, March 10, 2018 (UTC)
- To be honest, that kind of comment isn't very useful. If you have information to add, feel free to do it. Otherwise, it will have to wait for someone who has the information and also has the free time to enter it. Shambala108 ☎ 22:56, March 10, 2018 (UTC)
