Replying to a comment made at the end of the last thread:

"Only one female director and one female writer in all the years the show has been back on? Considering what a role women have made in making sure Doctor Who stays on the air, it makes it look all the more like a boys-only club and that, too, is much too limited."

Only one female writer, but there have been three female directors in NuWho: the first was Hettie MacDonald who directed Blink in S3, the second was Alice Troughton with The Sontaran Stratagem / The Poison Sky two-parter in S4, and the most recent was Catherine Morshead who directed Amy's Choice and The Lodger in S5. Troughton was just the one female director included on that particular list in the poll.

There's no excuse for more women not being involved though. The female voices, perspectives, and experiences are just as important important as the males'.
