Talk pages[[edit source]]

For me (as I can't say for others) most of the stuff that ends up on my talk page I deal with and then it's done. If I ever need to refer back to things I usually through the history of my talk page. --Tangerineduel 13:05, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Strike[[edit source]]

Species Stubs[[edit source]]

Could you go here: Category:Species Stub and see if you know anything about any of the stubs there. If so could you add information and then delete the stub template as im trying to remove all species stubs. This would be a great help :)--Skittles the hog 10:56, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Time's Champion[[edit source]]

sure, I'll explain. Craig Hinton and Chris McKeon worked on a fan novel together entitled Time's Champion. digressions to go over arguments justifying fan theories which reference fan fiction (digressions to justify personal views of continuity, full stop, actually) don't really belong here and most especially not in in-universe sections. I feel a bit cruel deleting these sections when I suspect that Chris McKeon (or at least one of his friends) added these sections. at the very least, though, they don't belong in the main (in-universe) section of the articles.
next time I delete a large chunk from any article I will, in future, explain why I did so.

Fan Fiction[[edit source]]

I certainly don't want to vandalize. The addition of the short story "Under the Stairs" falls under the category of fan fiction, however the novel Time's Champion, although an unofficial publication, can be argued is more than this. It is a full-length novel, based on a commissioned author's work and edited and printed by Doctor Who affliated professionals. It represents many years of work and planning, as well as the final fictional work of Craig Hinton's life. The story also is recognized by respected series podcasts and websites. It has been included in many noted affliate website for sale; the story itself is being circulated by readers and its effects on reader's perceptions of continuity are clear as any other officially published novel. It should be noted, also, that there are examples of unofficial stories which have gained "canonical" status due to their importance on the character development and backhistory of the Doctor and/or companions, such as "Schrodigner's Botanist" in the Perfect Timing collection serving as Grant Markham's departure, or Craig Hinton's own "One Perfect Twlight" as the origin of Kamelion. Therefore, based on precedence and the notariety of this novel, I feel that it is perhaps unfair to label "Time's Champion" as simply fan fiction, whose additions to continuity on this wiki would be dismissed as potential vandalism. Consider, the John Benton webpage now lists the character's birthday as 6 January, 1938, a date supplied by "Time's Champion." The Valeyard page is sure to note the origins of the character based from this novel as well, as it is the only source in Doctor Who fiction to examine this backhistory. In all, I feel that it should not be a problem to list the continuity point that the War Chief is the Master based on information provided in "Time's Champion." After all, what is Doctor Who but all fan fiction? :)--Medusa Cascade 01:05, 20 August 2008 (UTC)Medusa Cascade 01:04, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

BIT (more to a simple question LOL)[[edit source]]

Hi, no worries I'm not offended!
I know it was a simple question, and I suppose I did long windedly answer your point with a fuller explanation than you expected. I suppose I saw an opportunity to share my thinking in the hope of some discussion with someone visiting the pages and interested enough to comment? If thats the only criticism of the pages though I'm quite happy. Thanks for the support by the way. The Librarian 23:03, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Blog[[edit source]]

Thanks, i thought it was crap, i really need to update it. Thanks anyway :)--Skittles the hog 16:36, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Cybermen[[edit source]]

It seemed to me to make more sense this way, all the other articles dealing with duplicates in Pete's World have "(Pete's World)" to differentiate them from their main timeline counterparts, so I figured that the Cybermen should too. Doug86 22:36, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Vandals and Inappropriate User names[[edit source]]

The user has been blocked. However in a general sense (I think there's a couple of other users with 'odd' user names), usually look at their contributions can indicate whether they're here for vandalism or not. Only if they're vandalising I would tend towards blocking for their user name (as long as it's light-hearted enough) but other offensive user names of course would get blocked. --Tangerineduel 14:52, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Re future admins[[edit source]]

Thanks...much of it was re-written from the main Wikipedia article. I just hope that it's a stopping point for people who just want to be admins for the delete and block buttons. Glad that it could help. --Tangerineduel 13:05, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Images[[edit source]]

Hello there!

Recently a couple of anonymous users have been replacing the main images representing the Fourth Doctor, Fifth Doctor, and Sixth Doctor with screencaps which, IMHO, do not represent the characters very well. For instance, a screencap of the Sixth Doctor in the heat trap in Vengeance on Varos keeps on being placed in the info box and I'm having to revert it back to the image which is currently there. Is there anyway you can block these anonymous users please or at least lock pages off from anonymous users? Thanks for reading. --Alan-WK 21:53, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Doctor Who Wiki[[edit source]]

Were you the First One on Doctor Who Wiki? Can I be an administrator? The Doctor - 904, ! 08:56, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Hey, I wanted to ask you about something: the Cybermen. Since the Parallel universe ones have been accepted as the new, updated version, shouldn't the original Cybermen be referred to as "Classic Series Cybermen?

By the way, quite frankly this Wikia is a mess. Grammatical mistakes and errors out the wazoo. I mean, they've even accepted the 11th Doctor's death as immovable fact! I mean, they're gonna reverse that sooner or later, right? They'd better.

Come on back[[edit source]]

Hey :) Haven't seen you around for a couple of years. If you're still out there editing somewhere on Wikia, why not come back to w:c:tardis and lend us a hand?

Christmas cheer[[edit source]]

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
