- The idea that Wallis Simpson is an alien shapeshifter comes only from a brief extract from The Lost Diaries of Winston Spencer Churchill, a short story in The Brilliant Book 2011. Nevertheless, it is given some credence by the 2020 audio story Subterfuge, which acknowledges that the Seventh Doctor and Churchill did meet up during the abdication crisis, referred to as "that business with Mrs Simpson."
