"Zombo"
A Zarbi was among those stationed at the Carsenome when the imprisoned First Doctor and Vicki Pallister hatched their escape plan. Ambushing the Zarbi with a necklet subverted from the Animus's control, he was freed from his former master's control and now followed the direction of the Doctor's signet ring. By the time the three successfully escaped the Carsenome, Vicki, having grown fond of their Zarbi companion, had named him "Zombo", to the mild disapproval of the Doctor.
When the Doctor and Vicki met back up with Barbara Wright at the Temple of Light, Zombo startled her and the Menoptera present. After being dissuaded from attacking, Prapillus approached the Doctor about transferring control of Zombo over to him, as he figured he was far more familiar with the species and could make more effective use of the Zarbi in the coming attack on the Carsenome. The Doctor, after being convinced by Barbara, lent Prapillus his signet ring in exchange for the Isop-tope.
In the attack on the Carsenome, Zombo was directed to attack another Zarbi, who was chased back inside of the building with the help of the Menoptera. In an attempt to subvert a larvae gun away from the Animus's control, Hrostar removed Zombo's necklet and wrapped it around the creature's proboscis, only to get shot to death in the attempt. In the ensuing chaos, Zombo fled back into the Carsenome.
