BBC Radio 4 Extra, formerly BBC Radio 7 and BBC 7, is a radio channel owned by the British Broadcasting Corporation.

The parody story Dalek, I Love You was broadcast on BBC 7 on 11 February 2006. It was followed by a sequel, Dalek, I Love You Too, on 22 March 2008.

Big Finish Productions' Eighth Doctor Adventures premiered on BBC 7 with the first part of Blood of the Daleks on 31 December 2006. Each episode of the first season was broadcast alongside a 10 minute behind the scenes documentary entitled Beyond the Vortex. However, the second, third and fourth series debuted on CD prior to their radio broadcasts, carrying over to Radio 7's rebranded successor, Radio 4 Extra.

Radio 4 Extra also broadcasts Big Finish Doctor Who audio dramas as part of its programme The 7th Dimension, hosted by Nicholas Briggs and latterly Toby Hadoke. Since 2018, these are all made available on BBC Sounds for a limited time after broadcast.

Also as part of The 7th Dimension, Radio 4 Extra broadcast Surviving Doctor Who - an A-Z by Toby Hadoke on 18-19 November 2023.
