Davius
Davius was a continent on Skaro and the home of the Thals. It was separated from the continent of the humanoid Daleks, Dalazar, by the Ocean of Ooze. One history text indicated that Davius was one of three continents on Skaro, alongside Dalazar and Darren, (PROSE: Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe [+]Loading...["Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe (short story)"]) however another account indicated that the region of commonly known Skaro locations was merely the "light side of Skaro", with there being more on the dark side of Skaro. By one account, the Thals lived in Davius at the time of the Neutronic war, (COMIC: Genesis of Evil [+]Loading...["Genesis of Evil (comic story)"]) with Davius being their "original home". (PROSE: Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe [+]Loading...["Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe (short story)"]) By another account, the Thals only came to Davius after the end of the war due to no longer being able to live in Darren. In the era of the 2400s Dalek invasion of the solar system, the Thals were living in Davius. (PROSE: The Dalography of Skaro [+]Loading...["The Dalography of Skaro (feature)"])
While the Thals originally lived in the east of Davius, their settlements there were abandoned. The Thals split and migrated to two locations: the higher plateaus of Davius where they survived through agriculture and across the Ocean of Ooze to Dalazar. Davius still existed after the Last Great Time War. In this era, the millennia-old ruins of Thal settlements could still be found in eastern Davius. It was included on a map of Skaro drawn by the sole survivor of a human expedition to Skaro in the era of Kaalann. - The existence of Davius, Dalazar and the Ocean of Ooze seem to be contradicted by The Daleks and Genesis of the Daleks, in which Thals, Kaleds and Daleks inhabit the same continent.
