Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The Dalek explains that "a lot of viewers have written in" asking why the Daleks don't appear as much as they used to. The answer for this is that during the inital Dalek onslaught of the 1960s they made so much money from Dalek merchandising that they bought the galaxy instead of conquering it.
- The merchandise includes shirts, footballs, Dalek cruet set, cuddly Daleks, Dalek jigsaws, Dalek Exterminate By Numbers painting sets and Dalek boots.
- Four girls in bikinis that are with the Dalek hug him, serve him drinks and polish his sense globes.
Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- This story alludes to Dalekmania, the excitement created by the species after their first appearance in The Daleks which resulted in several further appearances and the production of lots of merchandise.
- This was the twenty-second Doctor Who? strip drawn by Dicky Howett. This was the first strip known to be published out of order from when it was drawn by Howett, discounting one story ultimately never printed in Doctor Who Magazine.
