Strangerstide
Strangerstide was a midwinter festival celebrated by the Lesser Time Elementals, similar yet distinct to Christmas on Earth. While Meta-Historians Alice Timony and Olivia Kagg Waldermein used the less conventional translation "Eldritch Night" for the celebration, Waldermein also noted that Alien's Fall was another translation.
Waldermein wrote in the footnotes of her 2323 paper Love & War: A Meta-Historical Investigation of the Dawn of the Cosmic Revolution, which translated Dionus' account of the last peace-time Eldritch Night celebrations before the Cosmic Revolution, that Eldritch Night was similar to the celebration of Christmas on Earth, though significantly less physical and "by no means 'Christmassy' by human standards", instead marking "the anniversary of the expulsion of an archetypal 'alien' influence from the Morning Star by its Lord Founder, completing the penultimate stage of Elemental society's foundation". She stated that the celebration was often concerned with "intruders, deceit and upheaval," themes which often appeared in collections of Eldritch Night Tales. The Goddess of Gendar received postcards from her schoolmates on Eldritch Night.
