Elves were mythical creatures. The term was sometimes used interchangeably with "fairy" to refer to members of the Fair Folk or Sidhe, (PROSE: Autumn Mist ^[+]Loading...["Autumn Mist (novel)"]) but could also refer to quite distinctive creatures, such as "Santa's little helpers".
