Hi, in my defense...[[edit source]]

I can't decide if you think the infobox picture doesn't fit with what's been done before (on a 'few' (relatively speaking), strip pages ), for that very reason, or personally because you feel its ... just wrong!?
I'm surprised thats your only comment and that you've made no comment about the inclusion of other images, infobox picture headings, etc or the new tweaked format for the pages that I'm still working through, (or incidently, the inclusion of a strip gallery under a listing of adventures (see Doctor Who: Battles in Time (Comic Strip) if you haven't already!) but hear me out first...please...before condemning it out of hand.
  • It wasn't a rash decision on my part to be 'wrong'! I decided to try something slightly different with the BIT comic strips which are a limited run of strips.
I hear what you are saying (TangerineDuel raised a similar point in initial discussions see Talk Pages) However...
  • The picture at the top of the infobox, which also includes the BIT logo and the heading that it is a Tenth Doctor adventure, is consistant with the Doctors depiction throughout all 52 issues, and clearly lets the page communicate with the viewer what the page is about (and in my opinion looks better than all the various template boxes of various shapes and sizes that seem to be appearing!)
  • More significantly, however is that the pages are BETTER illustrated with the inclusion of the image box I've put below the summary, above the characters. (To save some work I've edited several images together as ONE image to represent the page and the strip).
  • Originally I had intended to present a character table featuring a character picture on the left with text in the table on the right but, beside all the extra work, it didn't quite fit (and looked very messy as well!!) and would have made the page awkward and potentially long.
I wanted to illustrate the characters but with only 4 pages per episode, and frequently nothing more than a sentence to add as an page entry for most of them, didn't think it warranted creating a new page with nothing of note on it.
  • By including a strip box between summary and characters I was able to include on the page both illustration of characters AND represent the strip, in a way what I believe, is more informative, looks tidy and is still located near the top of the page (..ish).
  • Scanning and editing the pictures takes me an enormous amount of preparation (not to mention the time) in uploading EVERY little picture. Some strips lend themselves to a lead picture easier than others. By its very nature the strips in BIT are designed to be 'un-complex' (I know it doesn't even look like a word!), using 'simplistic' would be selling the strip short. But with only 4 pages to go through (yes, I know I decided to treat them as individual pages rather than collected episodes* (see below...or maybe not!)) A single consistantly sized image for the infobox began to get problematic.
Anyway, thats why I did it. I was perhaps, if others thought the general idea was sound, thinking of extending it across over 40 years of strip coverage, but not today (obviously)!! The Librarian 15:07, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
