a real world photo doesn't belong here unless it shows someone or something specific associated with Doctor Who or a spin-off or got used on-air in some way. What's "Whoniverse-specific" about them? And why does this wiki have a licensing template for public domain pictures from Wikipedia in the first place if we're not supposed to use it? I'll tackle the why first, because it was one of the first templates we had. All the images you've listed (except the drawing pin) have been knocking around since the start of this wiki (and before we started to think about this sort of thing).

Ideally, all images that appear in in-universe pages should have images taken from the Doctor Who universe.

Looking at the examples you've listed they should be removed and replaced with in-universe images.

However, the images could remain, as long as they're displayed within the 'Behind the Scenes' section of the article, so users are aware that they are out-of-universe examples of these people. --Tangerineduel 14:25, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
