Forum:When using information from Doctor Who: Worlds in Time
For now, we should set some ground rules in regards to the upcoming game Worlds in Time. Right now the official Doctor Who facebook page has posted a link allowing players to start creating their player and then create an account to start playing the game: http://www.facebook.com/DoctorWho#!/DoctorWho/posts/343426229004744
However after creating your player, a disclaimer appears:
This game is still under development and testing and is subject to change and improvement.
You acknowledge that you have "early access" to the game in an incomplete form. By proceeding, you agree to hold strictly confidential any information about the game until it becomes public.
You acknowledge that should you violate the above confidentiality restriction, we have the right to recover any damages we suffer as a result from you.
This means that until the game is completely released or anything is posted official on the website, we're only allowed to use the information found at the player create screen or on the main website so to avoid getting the wiki or any user in trouble. --Victory93 talk to me 10:54, December 16, 2011 (UTC)
- We shouldn't be using anything of the game until it's been released to the public.
- Our Tardis:Spoiler policy still stands, specifically T:OFF REL. Unless it's been officially released we can't use it.
- According to the site it's in a "closed preview.", from your posting of the disclaimer it sounds like it's a Beta release. Neither of which would constitute being officially or publicly released. --Tangerineduel / talk 14:59, December 16, 2011 (UTC)
- And deleted and create-locked again. Please note that the official website clearly says it's "available on a preview basis". That's not an official release. Things are clearly going to change with it. What matters is the final, commercial release. They haven't set a date for that beyond "1Q 2012". Thus, create-lock is in force indefinitely.
