James Braddock

James Braddock was the publican of Strines in 1854. He was caught between two separate machinations, Faction Paradox's plan to create a bubble universe to replace the Eleven-Day Empire, and the witch Elizabeth Howkins' attempt to exact revenge on the loa Spinning Jenny for the death of her husband. As a result, he became simultaneously both inside and outside the bubble universe the Faction was planning to create. This transformed him into a living tunnel between the bubble universe and its outside, an event which slowed his ageing to a tenth of a normal human's.

When the bubble universe was collapsed and the tunnel instead became a cavern, the Faction adopted James Braddock himself as their new base of operations. (PROSE: Spinning Jenny)
