Killoran

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
(Redirected from Kiloran)

The Killoran, also spelt Kiloran, (PROSE: Filthy Lucre) were a species of wolf-like humanoids.

Biology[[edit] | [edit source]]

Killorans were sentient humanoids resembling a six or seven-foot-tall furry and fanged biped with combined lupine and ape characteristics. They had strong teeth and tremendous strength which made them much in demand as construction workers. (PROSE: The Doomsday Manuscript, AUDIO: The Stone's Lament)

Killorans and humans had similar reproduction systems which allowed for sex between the species to take place. Hybrids were also possible. (PROSE: The Squire's Crystal) Killorans grew faster than humans, and were larger than a human baby at birth. (PROSE: The Glass Prison) Around their fourth years, young Killorans suffered from delirium, diarrhoea, and vomiting. (PROSE: Mentioning the War)

Killoran blood could be used to cure heart conditions in humans. It was dangerous in the long term and caused headaches and a short temper. (AUDIO: Thicker Than Water)

Because of their heightened sense of smell, Killorans bathed themselves two or three times a day. (PROSE: The Illuminated Man)

Culture[[edit] | [edit source]]

As the Killoran language couldn't be spoken by humans, Killorans living or working among humans generally adopted pseudonyms. They tended to favour names drawn from Earth history, military leaders in particular. (PROSE: The Doomsday Manuscript) Killorans taught their young to build and climb a pile of building materials. (PROSE: Misplaced Spring)
