Kurt McDonald was the father of Marnie McDonald who was accidentally kidnapped by the Serapheem in 2004.
After his partner left him to move to New York, Kurt's relationship with Marnie became strained, causing him to badly worry when she was deconstructed. He admitted that he had become difficult to talk to and did not appreciate receiving gifts due to trying to save money, which upset Marnie when she bought him and porcelain elephant on a trip to a zoo as a child.
Upon Marnie's disappearance, Kurt phoned the police and DC Jana Lee and the Ninth Doctor both answered to help him. Full of guilt, he was overjoyed when she was returned and promised to make it up to her. (AUDIO: Girl, Deconstructed)
